SARR SPORTS REGULATIONS 2021

 

 

1.1 GENERAL PROVISIONS

 

The SARR 2021, will be made up of 8 stages to be held in Argentina in the month of February 2021

To obtain the Finisher title, it is necessary to have completed more than 60% of the competition.

   

2. REGULATIONS

 

All regulations, prescriptions and regulations dictated by this Regulation are applicable. The fact of participating and registering in adventures of said tournament, accepts all the guidelines governed by these regulations.

 

2.1 REQUIREMENTS

Being over 15 years of age (exceptions only with authorization made by a notary public)

Have minimum security elements for each vehicle. (see technical regulation).

Have a computer with its own Android operating system or similar equipment and a satellite tracking and alert system.

           

2.2 ADMINISTRATIVE

Complete the registration form with all the data and signature.

Pay registration fee via deposit or at the administrative office.

Pay Medical coverage of the Argentine Association of Flyers.

         

2.3 SATELLITE MONITORING

The organization will confirm a system provider before the event, the competitors will pay the rent directly to the provider in the administrative office or previously through the internet.

 

3. CATEGORIES

5 categories of (Nav) and 10 categories of (RR) will participate, which will compete among themselves for a general classification of their modality, emerging from this, 15 category winners and 3 general.

 

3.1 NAVIGATION CATEGORIES

Individual category (Nav):

There will be 4 divisions for individual vehicles.

(N-1) For Motorcycles

(N-2) For Quads

(N-3) Para 4x4

(N-4) For Utvs

 

Team category (Nav): the teams must be made up of 2 to 5 members.

There will be 1 divisional for the teams.

(E-1) Teams with Mixed vehicles

 

3.2 RALLY RAID CATEGORIES

Motorcycle Category (RR):

There will be 2 divisions for the bikes divided by experience or age.

(M-1) Motorcycles

(M-2) Promotional Motorcycles (riders over 45 years old or inexperienced riders)

 

Quads Category (RR):

There will be 3 divisions for the quads divided by traction and experience or age.

                       (Q-1) Quads 4x2.

                       (Q-2) Quads 4x4.

(Q-3) Promotional Quads (pilots over 45 years old or pilots with no experience)

 

Cars Category (RR):

There will be 5 divisions for the cars.

(T-1.1) Prototypes All

(T-1.2) Prepared series vehicles (naphtha)

(T-2) Production Diesel Vehicles.

                        (T-3.1) UTV con Turbo limite 130 km/h

                        (T-3.2) UTV limite 110 km/h

 

3.3 GENERAL CLASSIFICATIONS

A – Navigation Categories (N-1 / N-2 / N-3 / N-4 / E-1)

B – Categories RR Motorcycles and Quads (M-1 / M-2 / Q-1 / Q-2 / Q-3)

C – Categories Cars and Utv RR (T-1 / T-2 / T-3)

 

3.4 ELIGIBLE VEHICLES

All types of vehicles suitable for demanding roads, quadricycles, motorcycles, utv, trucks, jeeps, buggies, sandboxes, etc., regardless of the displacement or the characteristics of each of them, will be admitted to participate in the adventures, having as main and only attention to take into account that of having the minimum preparation to overcome difficult terrain.

The RR category has a technical regulation (mandatory security measures)

 

3.5 SECURITY (NAV)

4x4 vehicles must have rollover protection. Motorcycle and quad participants must have the corresponding physical protection measures.

 

3.6 SAFETY (RR)

See technical regulations of each specific category.

 

3.7 Speed Categories Nav

For the Nav categories (N-1 / N-2 / N-3 / N-4 / E-1) the maximum speed will be 90 km/h at all times and may only be exceeded on main routes or highways, where the speed will be 100 km/h maximum. In this modality the competition is not by time, but by points.

 

3.8 Speeds Categories RR

For the RR Categories, the speeds in timed sections will be free (except T-3) and in the liaison sectors the maximum speed will be 110 and can only be exceeded on main routes or highways, where the speed will be 130 km/h. of maximum.

 

3.9 Speed Category T-3 (UTV)

For the T3.1 category, the maximum speed in timed zones will be 130 km/h and exceeding it will result in a penalty of 1 minute per km exceeded. For the T3.2 category, the maximum speed in timed zones will be 110 km/h and exceeding it will result in a penalty of 1 minute per km exceeded.

 

4. CHARACTERISTICS OF COMPETENCES

4.1 Distances

The total distance of the daily stages must be between 60 km and 500 km with a tolerance of more or less than 15%.

The validation distance for the (Nav) of the WP will be 50 meters and between 51 meters and 100 meters it will be penalized with three (2 and 3) points against.

The validation distance for the (RR) of the WP will be 50 meters.

                     

4.2 Surfaces

The surface of the roads to be used in the competitions will be dirt, mud, asphalt, sand or gravel (All existing terrain).

 

4.3 Stage Conditions

The Adventures will be composed of more than 2 stages and less than 10 stages.

The minimum distance may not be less than 60 km.

The maximum extension should not exceed 600 km.

       

4.4 Speeds

The maximum speed of Nav category vehicles in competitions must not exceed 90 km/h. In navigation sections and only in long route links, the speed will be limited to 110 km/h.

For the RR categories, the speed in timed sections (SS) will be free and in long road links the speed will be limited to 110 km/h.

In the case of sectors with restricted speed (Z) it will be of special attention for the participants not to exceed the speeds applied for said sector. In case of doing so, penalties with points and time will be applied (in case of repeating speed overruns, the organization may apply economic sanctions to repeat offenders) see penalties in section.

         

4.5 Assistance

It is not mandatory to have an assistance or support vehicle, the organization will offer the transfer of personal items to the bivouacs or checkpoints and then back to the place of arrival. The organization will also transport the fuel in a supply in the intermediate sector of each stage and also in the bivouac before the start of the second stage.

 

Assistance vehicles must:

1. Be registered and wear an identification plate provided by the Organizer.

2. Accept and follow the prescriptions of these regulations and the instructions given by the Director of the Test.

3. Accept the same traffic rules as the competition vehicles, included in the Argentine traffic code.

 

Assistance allowed:

During the adventure, assistance is allowed;

· By the crew of the vehicle involved and their teammates.

· By the crew of a regularly registered and competing vehicle.

· By the registered assistance vehicle, only in permitted areas.

· Tow or push, only between competitors in the race, otherwise that vehicle will be withdrawn from the stage.

 

4.6 Assistance with penalties:

The assistance by a vehicle not registered as a competitor or assistance may cause penalties or exclusions, as well as the transport of parts or people in an unauthorized vehicle, also deposit or drop parts, tools or people.

 

4.7 Tires

The tires to be used in all Classes will be free.

-In all cases and for all classes, the tires must have a pattern with a minimum depth of 2mm.

- Vehicles may transport a maximum of three (3) spare wheels.

 

4.8 Briefing or meeting of pilots

Previous meeting given by the test director or his representative with the obligatory participation of the pilots. The team that is not present at the meeting will be penalized.

 

4.9 Fixed penalty

A fixed penalty replaces certain sanctions that lead to exclusion or disclassification for not respecting certain clauses of the regulation. It allows the penalized competitor to continue the competition under normal conditions despite being severely penalized. The fixed penalty is established by the Organizers and can be of different value, any participant who does not respect this condition will not be able to continue participating in the competition until the payment of the fine is cancelled.

 

4.10 Times (Nav)

The time spent during the adventures will not be taken into account, only the start times, passage through CP and arrival of each stage. For each stage there will be maximum arrival times, in case of not complying with these the team will suffer a discount of points. Each sector will also have a maximum time to do it, after that it will be penalized with points against every 5 minutes. Penalties will be made as follows.

Every 5 min delay of the maximum time (-1 pts)

 

4.11 Times (RR)

There will be maximum times for each sector, the fact of not complying with the sectors will be the maximum times imposed for each sector or SS. Within the SS the time is timed and added to the penalties and the other SS will give the classification of each stage and competition.

 

Maximum time for the delivery of the GPS or Tablet (Nav).

The Organizer will not have the obligation to classify a team that arrives outside the maximum established time up to 1 hour after the time of the stage, after that time has passed, the number of teams arrived will count, once half of the total number of teams at the finish line, the rest will not enter the classification for the awards ceremony, after this they can be added to the list of teams when the route and the established time are evaluated.

 

4.12 Competition numbers

The organizers must provide each crew with the competition numbers that they will use during the competitions. Optionally they can print 20 x 15 cm plates. to be placed on the sides and front of the vehicle (in the case of motorcycles, quads and Utv) and 45 x 35 cm (in the case of 4x4).

 

4.13 Bypass

In the event that one team is caught by another, they should do everything possible to get to the side and get passed. The team that overtakes another must be sure to do so without risk to the overtaken competitor. The overcome team must wait a prudent time after being overcome to resume the march and not put their physique or that of the others at risk. In the event that a Nav team tries to overtake an RR vehicle, it will not have any priority and must wait for the correct moment to overtake without risk, this type of maneuver will be penalized.

 

4.14 Road Book

It will be delivered to the teams before each stage. This book will indicate the route to follow and its main accidents as well as the WayPoints, Restricted Speeds and Headings, using the Canav Navigator App to reach them, the SS and ZT of each stage will also be marked.

In it will appear everything necessary to be able to carry out the entire circuit, the WPS and WPE will be identified with a number and a letter to know in which sector of the circuit they are.

It will be delivered in notebook and roll formats.

 

4.15 CANAV BROWSER APP

The equipment used to navigate will be in charge of helping pilots and navigators to follow the ideal route, they will also have the possibility of using the Canav Navigator App to help with the task, it can be installed on Phones, Tablets, Canav Device or Garmin Monterra GPS.

4.16 Characteristics of Waypoints

 

· WPD – opens at 300 meters – validates at 50 meters (resets the total odometer of the App)

· WPM – opens at 800 meters – validates at 50 meters

WPS – opens at 6 km – valid at 50 meters

· WPC – does not open – valid at 200 meters

 

4.17 Dropouts

In case of the abandonment of a member of the team (E-1 Nav), the rest will be able to continue the adventure, only with a discount of points according to the number of missing.

In the event of a vehicle being shot by teammates, there will be no deduction of points.

The sweep vehicle will pick up people whose vehicles are broken down or out of service, but they will not be required to tow their vehicles.

The drivers who refuse to board the sweep vehicle assume their own responsibility and must sign a waiver that will be delivered by the members of the organization in charge of closing the route.

 

5. SCORING FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP

 

The score assigned by each test by the Classification of each category.

Not attending the symbolic start subtracts 1 presentation point, that is, it will add only 4 presentation points to date.

                                                                               

 

The score assigned to each test by the Classification of each General, for the 2019 Championship is as follows:

ADVENTURE From 1st to 3rd place:

In case of abandoning one or more stages, the score will be as follows:

 

2-STAGE RACE:

 

· ABANDONMENT OF 1 STAGE: adds P of the points that correspond to him for the position obtained.

 

3-STAGE RACE:

 

· ABANDONMENT OF 1 STAGE: adds p of the points that correspond to him for the position obtained.

· ABANDONMENT OF 2 STAGES: adds 0 of the points that correspond to him for the position obtained.

 

4-STAGE RACE:

 

· ABANDONMENT OF 1 STAGE: adds � of the points that correspond to him for the position obtained.

· ABANDONMENT OF 2 STAGES: adds @ of the points that correspond to him for the position obtained.

· ABANDONMENT OF 3 STAGES: adds of the points that correspond to him for the position obtained.

 

 

SPECIAL DATES:

If, after registration closes, for any reason, an adventure is suspended and the route of the stages has been partially disputed when it is interrupted, the score will be assigned according to the following criteria:

- Route (in kms.) less than 1/3 of the Adventure:

Deserted classifications do not grant points.

- Route (in kms.) between 1/3 and 2/3 of the Adventure:

50% of the points provided for the total test.

- Route (in kms.) more than 2/3 of the Adventure:

the total number of points expected.

               

5.1 OWNERSHIP OF SCORE (E-1 Nav)

The score obtained on each date will be owned by the team (Nav) and not individually by each participant, in the case of teams made up of 2 or more members they will always have the

6. PROHIBITIONS

 

It is totally forbidden to travel in the opposite direction to the direction of the circuit.

Teams are not allowed to split up to search for a point and continue (E-1 Nav).

Both sanctions are only triggering a sanction if a competition official can do so.

It is forbidden to overtake a vehicle at high speeds and be able to cause an accident or breakage

on windshields, the latter is punishable by exclusion from the competition, pilots may

denounce any pilot as long as he has the number of the competitor in violation, in that

case, calls for attention or sanctions will be produced.

 

In the case of not respecting traffic laws and being detained by the Police, the offender must

solve the problem without the help of the organization.

 

7. REGISTRATION

 

Registration will be open 2 months or more prior to the competition and will grant benefits to those who register in advance. New registrants will be received until the end of the administrative period prior to each competition. A registration form will be completed via the internet that will be used for the whole year, in case of modifying any data or member, it must be re-diagrammed and sent to the address of the test. The maximum number of entries per competition will be a maximum of 200 vehicles.

8. ORDER AND START INTERVAL

In the first instance, the vehicles of the RR modality will depart in the following order:

Every 30 seconds M-1 / Q-1 / Q-2

(5 minute break) every 1 minute T-3

(Interval 10 minutes) every 2 minutes T-1 / T-2

(5 minute break) every 30 seconds M-2 / Q-3

The Nav mode will start immediately in the following order:

Every 30 seconds N-1 / N-2 / N-3

Every 1 minute E-1 / N-3

In case of starting after hours, points will be deducted from the Nav team. (-1 for every 2 min of delay). For the RR the penalty will be 30 seconds for each minute of delay.

Any crew that arrives 1 hour after the start of the last team will not be allowed to start.

The team (Nav) will have to start completely, otherwise points will be deducted (-2 per member), to this the discount will also be added for not completing the stage in question.

 

8.1 LINK TIMES

 

The spaces between the SS will have a time granted to perform them, at the end of an SS in the App the clock will start a countdown with the remaining time to start the next SS. The times granted for each link must be respected with a tolerance of 1 second, after that the time is already running, and in case of advancing its start, it will penalize 2 minutes every 1 minute of advance.

Said time granted will appear in the timing of each stage and in the Road Book, in addition to being very visible and clear in the Canav App.

 

9. SATELLITE SPOT

 

For Nav categories: The use of Spot satellite equipment will be mandatory, all vehicles must have a working equipment, which will be verified in the administrative office prior to the start.

 

10. ORGANIZATION - RESPONSIBILITIES

The Organizer is solely responsible for the entire organization of the adventure and for correct compliance with all the Rules contained in the Sports Regulations.

 

11 SAFETY MEASURES

 

11.1 Safety Manual.

The Organizer must develop a Safety Manual where it must detail the measures provided to guarantee the safety of the participants.

Participants must have a first aid kit on all adventures.

Participants in the RR and Nav categories must have VHF radio equipment, but not necessarily.

 

11.2 General Conditions

The Organizer must have efficient means of communication between the Race Management and the Start and Finish Control Posts of the competitions, the Time Controls, and at intermediate points that are not directly under the supervision of these posts.

 

At each stage start and finish, there must be an ambulance equipped in accordance with the requirements of the Safety Manual and Police and Fire personnel, who will be under the orders of the Head of the Control Post.

 

The Sports Commissioner is empowered to demand the presence of one or more extra ambulances, and other security services, where they deem it necessary.

 

11.3 Security Elements (Nav)

Equipment for Quad: Helmet, gloves, Breastplate, boots or borceguí, long sleeve sweater and long pants.

 

Motorcycle equipment: Helmet, gloves, breastplate, rigid boot, long sleeve camper and long pants.

 

Equipment for 4x4: Helmet, competition belts, 2 fire extinguishers, roll cage.

 

In all cases, a first aid kit, a survival kit and at least 3 liters of water per person will be required at the time of departure.

 

11. 4 Security Elements (RR)

Equipment for Quad: Helmet, gloves, Breastplate, rigid boot, long sleeve camper and long pants. Reserve 3lts of water in the vehicle and 1kg fire extinguisher.

 

Motorcycle equipment: Helmet, gloves, breastplate, rigid boot, long sleeve camper and long pants. Reserve 3lts of water in the vehicle.

11.5 Private insurance.

It is recommended to have compulsory insurance for open road circulation according to national law (civil liability or third party insurance)

 

12. WARNINGS OR WARNINGS

The sum of three (3) reprimands or Warnings in the same Championship, applied by the Sports Commissioners, will imply the automatic Suspension for a date, which is final, being unable to run in another Category until it is effectively fulfilled in the category for which it was imposed.

 

13. CLAIMS

The right to claim only corresponds to registered Participants or Assistants.

It must be addressed to the Test Director in writing and accompanied by a bond.
